Wycombe Wanderers Women

Thanks, good to get some news about the youth teams.

Tomorrow the U16s play their final Berks & Bucks Cup group match, away to Procision Oxford. Even if they win and draw level with leaders Reading, the Royals have an eight goal superior goal difference and are firm favourites to go through to the final, even if they lose their final match at St Albans on 28 February. Kick-off 10am, venue unknown.

The U18s have no game tomorrow. The Firsts are away to Reading at Slough on Sunday, more on this intriguing match to come.

The other league results today.

Beaconsfield Town 4-1 Woodley United
Fleet Town 1-0 Badshot Lea

Other teams were busy in county cups, not all results in.

Next Sunday the Firsts host Fleet Town in the league, then a league trip to Sholing, then home to Beaconsfield in the league cup.

There are some scenes from the W3 v Chesham game at Adams Park in the latest episode of the Chesham United documentary. Mainly from 11:00, although (spoilers) they leave the episode at half time, so you’ll have to watch the next one for the comeback!

Thanks for that @Heisenberg. I didn’t know that Tasha Smith, the Chesham captain, was a Chairgirl until 17/18 years old. I couldn’t quite catch from the Chesham coach how we disrespected them in our team talk. They still have a solitary point in the league, it’s not looking good for them.

The Firsts are halfway through the league season, ten more matches which can be divided into two groups:
Bottom half - Fleet Town, Sholing, Badshot Lea (2), Woodley United
Top half - AFC Portchester (2), Southampton Women (2), Winchester City Flyers

The next three games happen to be against bottom half teams, so five of the last seven will be against top half. Perhaps the league are holding back key games to give a more exciting ending to the season. The two games at Adams Park should be against top half teams and I hope the process is that W3 find out from WW which Sundays they can accommodate, W3 talk to the potential visitors and then ask the league for those dates.

The Isthmian Women’s Cup continues next Wednesday, away to Bowers & Pitsea at 8pm. The other semi-final sees Chatham Town (tier 4) hosting Three Bridges (tier 7), perhaps next Wednesday as well, it hasn’t been announced yet. Incredibly, Chatham are into the 5th Round of the FA Cup (last 16) after a 3-0 win at home to York City on Sunday, attendance 1671. They have been drawn away to WSL2 side Birmingham City.

I believe Tasha is the daughter of David Smith (company secretary of WWFC) and a former Supporters Trust director - hence the link.

There is no game for the U16s tomorrow. The U18s have an interesting trip to Crystal Palace U16s, so good are they that they play in the U18s league. Scouts from WSL sides, and even from England, attend their matches. They have dropped points, in a 2-2 draw with Fulham last month, but have won their other four matches. No kick-off time or venue given.

On Sunday the Firsts are at home to Fleet Town, more to follow.

FT Crystal Palace U16s 9-2 U18s.

Results today and latest table.

On Wednesday evening the Firsts should be playing at Bowers & Pitsea in the Isthmian Cup semi-final. Just waiting for that to be announced.

Wednesday is now confirmed, 20:00 at Bowers & Pitsea FC, The Dome Group Stadium, Crown Avenue, Pitsea SS13 2BE.

Preview to come.

The Combined Counties Cup Third Round draw has been made and the Chairgirls will be at home to Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday 17th February at 19:45. QPR played their Development team in the last round, winning 3-1 at Penn & Tylers Green.

That is an unfortunate clash as the men will be playing at Exeter that evening. Hopefully the B & B game at Slough is not that night as well!

I found the draw on Facebook, which shows QPR at home, but W3 have advertised it at home so perhaps it has been switched.

Windsor & Eton or Reading v Actonians

QPR v Wycombe Wanderers

London Bees v Watford Dev

Fleet Town or Frimley Green v Maidenhead United

Sutton United v AFC Croydon or Dartford

Merstham Youth or South Park v AFC Portchester

Hastings United v Eastbourne Borough

Ashford United (Kent) v Chatham Town

The two youth teams have no games tomorrow, both had scheduled games which have been cancelled. The U16s have only played two league games so far, when the other teams in the group have played between four and eight. The U18s have only played two league games since 8th November. Both teams have games scheduled for next Saturday.

The Firsts travel to Sholing on Sunday in the league, preview to come. The Chairgirls have had another league fixture added, Badshot Lea at home on 22nd February, a week after playing them away. The league seem incapable of organising fixtures sensibly, no team wants back to back games against the same team.

Hi. There’s a JPL Warriors Trophy knockout competition that I believe might not be on your radar. The u16s have been playing games in that lately.

Today, they had a tough tie at home against Exeter City in the round of 16. The girls won 8-6 and are through to the quarter final where they will meet West Ham Foundation u16 girls.

Here’s the link to the fixtures and results (the u18s are in here also):

Thanks so much for that @lazy, I never thought to look for a new mid-season competition. Up to last season, W3 socials would publicise the youth team matches, sadly no more.

The U16 competition is divided into two groups, 32 team ‘Cup’ and 64 team ‘Trophy’, with the former being the top seeded teams, it seems. The U18s just have one 64 team ‘Cup’. This is their progress so far:

The Epsom & Ewell result has not been updated, that may be because the match has not taken place. The U16s and Burnham men were both at home yesterday and I don’t think The 1878 Stadium can stage three matches in a day.

Other results today:

After taking the lead at Beaconsfield, the Flyers went behind and equalised late in the second half. A good result for us, I expected Flyers to win that. Reading keep up their challenge and Woodley win their first match of the season, in the Chairman’s Cup. Southampton Women and Portchester are currently playing in the league cup, 6pm ko at AFC Stoneham.
