How could i forget Tommy Mooney
Matt Spring. Although that’s a memory I’d rather forget.
John McClelland
Jason Soloman (he was tripe)
Randall Williams
You certainly know your onions!
Keith Scott
Solomon most definitely was not different gravy
agh - how could I forget one of my favourite players of all time in the quarters - my poor old memory !!
Wow - that’s a brilliant, the brilliant Barry Silkman !
Just looking at that line up again - is that very young John Barnes (back row, 2nd from left) ?
Yes it John Barnes
Russell Martin reportedly close to joining Leicester.
Sad news
Just read that Alan Gane’s popular assistant during the memorable 86/87 season Richard Teale has sadly passed away. The ex Wimbledon,Walton, and Slough keeper was 74.
No, that was Graham Pearce
The same Matt Spring who played more games in the Premier League than Gaz?
That is true and fair play to the chap but his legs had gone by the time he played for us.
Matt Spring made 6 premier league appearances.
Assuming I’m not mistaking “Gaz” for the wrong person, Gareth Ainsworth made 10 premier league appearances.
Gareth also played a lot more games for Wimbledon in the old First Division, prior to the start of the Premier League.
And was utterly ravaged with injury at Wimbledon too.
Did think it seemed an unlikely stat so had to check it out.
He’s not that old! Well… he was playing pre-Premier League, but he only joined Wimbledon in 1998.
