Personality is important and we need to keep some semblance of a thread in the dressing room. Neither players i personally rate as starters in a top end League 1 side, but they are still important players. I actually do think I would see them both as more rotational options ideally with a new attacking right back (perhaps go back for the young Palace right back) and a midfield including bringing back Morley.
About as much as many of the others. He had a poor game today, I don’t think he’s really ready to start games regularly yet (and he may never be, who knows), but is a useful option of the bench at times. His level of skill and technique is very high, so for me I’d persevere with his development for 1 more year
This I can accept and agree with, I understand it’s good to keep the Wycombe spirit of old. as long as they are rotational players and more here for the dressing room vibes than footballing ability fine. But in the starting 11 every week, we will never be a promotion chasing team.
This thread is fantasy stuff. What club, apart from Wycombe, is rich enough and stupid enough to buy any of these players? Can’t see any club in the National League South that’s likely to give us a million quid for Fink.
If any of this lot leave in Jan it’ll be on a free, and it’s highly unlikely ML is going to set fire to any more funds for Rice’s vanity project, so anyone incoming is going to be loans.
Binning Fink would be a huge embarrassment so I doubt that’ll happen just yet. Magnus has been here about a year so his sale could possibly be justified, although doubt we’d recoup much of the original fee. I imagine it would go down as ‘undisclosed’.
Extremely unusual that Shamal George looked fairly shaky in every (albeit infrequent) time he put on a Wycombe shirt, yet etches himself into St Mirren folklore. I wonder if he’ll ever be back, or if he’ll be off on a permanent deal in January.
I think wages can always be arranged if the deal suits all parties. Strangely Aaron has never seemed to play as well for us as he does with you. Whether that’s the system we play or the other players he’s not fitting in with I don’t know but it’s sadly just not happening for him under Schumacher as it didn’t under Evatt. I think you’d probably get him for less now too than you might have paid earlier for him. We desperately need a No10 so I’m sure if the offer was right a deal could be done. Like many I’d be sad to see him go because he’s got all the tools but for whatever reason he’s just not using them as he did with yourselves.
