Chesham is off.

Did someone spill a can of coke on the pitch?

Ray…

Very good, I’ve only just spotted the typo!

Anyone gone to Thame v Flackwell? Flackwell gone 0-3 up only for Thame to come back to 4-3, all before half time.

I didn’t go but saw that all seven goals came within 45 minutes?! Will have to do an update soon as we head into the business end of the season.

Flackwell have had a disappointing season by their recent high standards. Probably found their level at Step 4 and have struggled since their FA Cup run came to an end (a long time ago now!). Also their talisman Wiktor Makowski left for Slough, and has continued his fine goal scoring form. One to watch if he plays us in the B&B.

I think the latest on finding a home is a proposal to build a community sports hub on the former Aylesbury Golf Club, to include a new football ground. I don’t know when that might happen.

More fun at Flackwell, 5-0 up at half time this week. They’ll be hoping not to lose this one 5-6.

Time for an update around the leagues as we approach the business end of the season…

:soccer_ball: NATIONAL LEAGUE SOUTH

Chesham United are playing themselves into play-off contention having gone unbeaten so far in 2026. The Generals signalled their intent with a 4-1 win over Ebbsfleet, a result that lifts them up into the final play-off place on goal difference.

Maidenhead United have had a patchy season back at this level but today’s 2-0 win over Dagenham puts them in the play-off frame, three points behind Chesh. Former Chairboy Josh Umerah has proved a reliable source of goals and added to this tally.

Slough Town have arrested an alarming slump that put them in and around the drop zone but today’s 4-1 drubbing at Worthing probably confirms that mid-table is the best they can hope for.

:soccer_ball: SOUTHERN LEAGUE DIVISION ONE CENTRAL

Thame United gubbed Beaconsfield Town 4-0 on the road, with the former eyeing up the top six, while the latter likely having to regroup for next season.

Further afield, Milton Keynes Irish continue to do well, thrashing lowly Rayners Lane 4-1 on home turf. Aylesbury United are five points clear of the drop but have played a game more than Enfield. Today’s 1-5 reverse at Biggleswade Town did little to help their cause. Flackwell Heath thrashed bottom dwellers, AFC Dunstable, (6-0) but have left themselves too much to do to repeat a play-off tilt. Marlow are unlikely to go down but they’ve had a humdrum season back at this level and sit in 16th place.

:soccer_ball: SPARTAN SOUTH MIDLANDS PREMIER DIVISION

Winslow United sit top but suffered a 2-0 defeat at home to Sawbridgeworth Town this afternoon. Risborough Rangers beat Baldock Town 3-2 away and have enough games in hand to get themselves into play-off contention. Aylesbury Vale Dynamoes are in their customary “mid-table mud” position.

:soccer_ball: COMBINED COUNTIES PREMIER DIVISION NORTH

Burnham still sit top of the tree by three points but their game at North Leigh was called off, allowing Broadfields United to close the gap. Windsor & Eton’s bid for a triple promotion remains alive as they beat Abingdon United 2-0 to sit in the final play-off place.

Amersham Town have dropped like a stone but have up to five games in hand on their relegation rivals. Holyport claimed a valuable 2-1 win over doomed Edgware & Kingsbury in a very lop-sided division in terms of games played.

:soccer_ball: COMBINED COUNTIES DIVISION ONE

Fifth-placed Penn & Tylers Green put down a marker by beating second-placed Brook House 6-2 at French School Meadow. Penn are five points off top with three games in hand.

Holmer Green secured a creditable 0-0 draw at home to PFC Victoria London but the Greens are going nowhere fast this term. Chalfont St. Peter achieved the same outcome away at Molesey but they’re eight points adrift of safety, if indeed finishing in the relegation zone guarantees the drop. I think a lot depends on ground grading of the teams at Step 7, which would be the abyss as far as senior football goes.

Local-ish but shout-out to Uxbridge who are making a good fist of it in the tricky Southern Prem South, currently sitting mid-table after thrashing Weymouth 5-1.

Thames Valley Prem maybe? That’s the league Windsor & Eton came up from.
