It’s a very esoteric cup, played only between teams in the CCL D1. I assume fixture pile-ups meant it got relegated to the fag end of the season. The winner of tonight’s game will play Penn away in the semi-final, with the final typically held at a neutral ground.
Magic of the Esoteric Recordings Division One Challenge Cup and all that…I’m sure they’ll be dancing in the Bat and Ball and Earl Howe if Holmer go all the way. Or perhaps a wild party by the pond should PTGFC secure a league and cup double.
Royston won 4-2 on pens after a 3-3 draw in which both sides had a man sent off.

Holmer Green beat Langley 4-2 in front of a crowd of 136 to book a semi-final date at Penn. To be played next Tuesday 28 April, 7.45pm KO.

This made me think of a question. Anyone know the lowest crowd for a competitive fixture Wycombe have played?
I know 2-300 wasn’t that unusual back it mid 70s isthmian league fixtures away from home.
(And I’m not including the Covid season)

Most attendances in our history are missing but I can find two under 100.
18/11/1911 - 2nd Grenadier Guards 2-1 WW, Great Western Suburban League - attendance 25.
The low crowd was due to torrential rain, the match was played in ankle-deep mud.
28/04/1908 - WW 1-4 Southend United - Southern League Division 2 - attendance 40
The Chairboys’ last match in the Southern League, they finished bottom with three points. The match was played in the pouring rain.

Westside beat Holmer last weekend in front of 27. And that’s about average for them. They share at Colliers Wood but no idea how you survive on average gates of 30.

321 at home to Hitchin Town in the 1981-82 season, was at the time considered the lowest home league attendance during the time, when gates were regularly recorded.
Went on to be known as ‘The Ted Rogers Derby’, I believe

The winner got the Dusty Bin Trophy.
For 2 or 3 seasons in the early 80’s, Norman Reeves sponsored both Wycombe and Slough.
And they played for the ‘Needle Trophy’ in those Isthmian lge games.

Yes and a 2-0 win. It remains a very nice non-league set up and good match day experience.
I went to Bedford Town against Scarborough yesterday. Both went into the game knowing that a win would get them what they wanted, survival for Bedford, playoffs for Scarborough. Scarborough looked much better than Bedford for most of the game, but with the score 1-1 after about 70 minutes, it became clear that results elsewhere meant a draw was good enough for both teams - the rest of the match played out like watching two Mike Dodds teams play against each other as both teams gently knocked it around a bit and nobody bothered tackling or shooting.
Good atmosphere though with around 1500 people.

Yes I was one of the 321, it was played on the Tuesday after our FA trophy semi-final defeat at home to Altringham them so definite after the Lord Mayors show territory

I was also there that night. Went to every game on the Trophy run, apart from Walthamstow away. The 2nd replay against the Avenue was the greatest goal, I’ve ever seen by a Wanderers player. Terry Glynn picked the ball up on the half way line, spun his marker then beat two players, before hitting a wonderful dipping drive from about 30 yards.
I think I had only just stopped crying from the Alty game, when we played Hitchin. I think my tears started when it was announced Chris Way was in goal for the injured Gary Lester for the Trophy semi final.
