Match day thread: Leyton Orient 8th Nov 25

I thought all the players recruited came with a good pedigree which is why what happened with MD1 seemed so mystifying.

I thought everyone was excellent today which helped to make Fred happy enough to score.

Shout outs to Casey, coming into a settled side and scoring and Woodrow, Harvie, Leahy and Jack again for leadership.

Now 14th and only 3 points above 20th

Orient lost 16 games last season and got into the playoffs. there’s loads of wriggle room

But also 3 points of 8th. Going in the right direction though.

At least everyone in the top 8 except Bolton lost

And 4th in the current form table (last 6 league games).

Feel a bit for Taylor - has to sit this one out, sees Dan and Anders looking sharp, then watches their keeper get away with a yellow. Anders was much closer to Taylor than any of their defenders were to Fred, but he still has to go. Yet Fred is clean through and only forced wide because of the goalie’s foul play.

Worst decision of the season, will be hard to find anything that beats it…

Don’t want to be a grumpy bastard though. Someone will eventually say we won because we’re actually quite good, and not because the opposition are shit.

expect some major reshuffling of the table in the next 3 months imo

Strange sensation at half time. I was so so angry (with that decision and several others that incompetent ref made) I almost forgot we were 3-1 up. Good to have a more relaxing second half and another goal to improve my mood.

The table is somewhat upside down. 5 of the top 7 losing today. I really fancy the likes of Wimbledon, Stevenage, Bradford to slide, they all beat us narrowly but we were a mess under Dodds. Meanwhile under Duff we continue to climb now alongside other clubs like Reading, Luton etc who you would expect to be up there. It might take until Christmas for this league to take shape properly!

Outstanding today. Duff just seems to fit with us.

Peterborough beat Wimbledon 5-0 indicating that the league is made out of papier-mache

First time we’ve won back-to-back home games under the same manager since Feb

Great win today and we look to have some structure and urgency to our game under Michael Duff.

Fred, Henderson, Anders, Bell, Woodrow all excellent today. Casey played very well after the early mix up and Harvie was Mr reliable as usual.

Well done lads and onto Port Vale.

I forgot Leahy, who had an excellent game today, well done Luke :+1::+1::+1:.

Burton Albion might be the most mysterious team in the league.

I still can’t believe there are people who think we wouldn’t have gone up automatically last season if we had got a half competent replacement for MB (or MB had stayed).

Nothing personal against Mike Dodds but his ineptitude (and that of the person who appointed him) absolutely cost us a season in the. championship this year

Well we are looking forward now, what might have been doesn’t bother me. Michael Duff has got us going again and to be fair to Dan Rice, he did appoint Duff.

I expect Cardiff to win the league. Wimbledon, Lincoln, Stevenage and Mansfield to fade. Probably with Luton, Huddersfield, Barnsley and ourselves replacing them.

Exactly.
