Not sure I agree, didn’t really impress in his first season under blooms. Maybe the relocation was more of a shock to the system than maybe he anticipated. Going back ‘home’ might’ve done him the world of good!
According to Wiki, Hartridge played 6 league games for us. He’d played 70 odd before signing, abd a season abd a half elsewhere. You dont play all those ganes if you arent at least decent at that level.
Football fans love writinv players off though.
I am definitely not a junior fan. You are correct there are people that love junior but I’m not one. You’ve described what I said last season and got shot at. I don’t care how many flashes he has, what about the rest of the time. Takes a second to score a goal but what about the rest of the time?

I compare Mullins to other young players who had raw talent but needed to push themselves to get to the next level - players like Luke O’Nien, Anis Mehmeti, Richard Kone - all showed touches of what they could do in the first season then went away over the summer, bulked up, and came back twice the player they had been. There was a fire in their eyes and you knew they had their sights set on bettering their careers, benefiting us in the process. I don’t see that with Mullins. We all said last season that he’d benefit from a summer in the gym. He looks like he has exactly the same physique he had before. There doesn’t seem to be the drive or the passion there to get out of second gear.
Armando. Good at beating his man then dribbling back into a non dangerous position. Really unimpressed whenever I see him he’s not Micah’s age anymore. Lg2 at best with hits of LG1 WHEN he’s on it. Step over futsal king.

First half showed why Fred is not a number 9. We love you Fred but you are not a number 9.
I like Silko and especially in combination with Dan Harvie who becomes quite a good marauding left back in that combination with Silko.
I guess Duff wants the wingers and their matched full backs to work as a unit and offer overlap and lay off options. Junior and Grimmer were less effective today and I see why Junior gave way for Cauley Woodrow at half time.
The introduction of Tezgel really upped our game with his pure pace and willingness to run off the ball in anticipation of the long pass.
We deserved the draw but maybe not much more.
Alex Mitchell, the centre back sub for Plymouth is a Windsor boy and used to play around the Wycombe /south bucks youth leagues against my son. Played as a striker /midfielder and then got picked up by Millwall. Maybe would have been in the Wycombe academy if we had kept that going?

Have to speak up for Jack Grimmer, criticised by many on this forum. He was able to relay the ball comfortably on numerous occasions to Junior or Fred when the pass to him usually from Taylor put him under some pressure. Was rarely beaten on the flank by any Plymouth forward. Also never shirks a challenge in the air - which in a side lacking physical presence or muscle in too many areas is an asset - as some in the midfield and further forward do. I thought he delivered a pretty sound performance and failure to advance down the right flank often down more to Junior’s difficulty in powering past people with either pace or muscle, too often caught by the second or third challenge and hindered by difficulty in finding a teammate when ambushed. I would also be interested to learn what instruction is given to other players about how to get the best out of Tezgel. In my view, he made a very limited impact after coming on - unlike others - largely because he seemed to call perpetually for and possibly need the forward channel pass onto which he could run, almost none of which were delivered, leaving him stationary in the wrong area. He is not (yet) it seems the best to impose himself with aerial challenges when a loose ball is then up for grabs resulting from a misdirected pass.

Positive signs today. I thought Taylor had a superb game, Henderson looked great in midfield, and Silko looked dangerous - till he tired. We looked infinitely better in the second half with Woodrow at number 9, an actual focal point for the attack. I don’t think Woodrow himself is the answer up front, but it clearly shows how badly we need to pick up another striker in the next week.
I’m glad Fink has gone out on loan. We can end the “will he won’t he” narrative and finally recognise he’s miles off the standard required. A disaster buy.
Positive signs, but I’m a little worried about our upcoming fixture list for September.

I never like Fred as a central striker, but I can only assume that Woodrow was not deemed fit enough to start.

Leicester fans criticised silko for not having an end cross, they were correct just doesn’t seem to get that vital cross in always changes to his right foot and passes back. He will learn hopefully , was good against stevenage but poor in last two games .
I keep making this point. Silko could be very good but he’s still young and raw. He’s not someone we can rely on … yet. I therefore think it is essential there is another left sided option.
Three players still needed. Clock ticking. Nine days left.

Silko has bags of pace, but seems to be very uncomfortable delivering a cross with his left foot.
Grimmer playing with those ridiculous 2 inch shin pads, and short socks has made him look scruffy and unfit. Parker loads of pace, but never looks in control of the ball. I thought Cook was superb, I noticed Cook having words with Harvie a number of times. I think he was trying to remind him of his defensive duties and get closer to him man, and you would have to agree.

The question is Why do we keep playing players on the opposite side to their stronger foot?!? We do it with Junior and now with Thomas.
Any fast breakaway involving those 2 always gives the defence at least 3 - 5 seconds to reposition or adapt once they try to cut back onto their stronger foot. It works in the higher leagues because the players posess more pace and skill whereas in League 1, they just need to deliver!
The idea being decent full backs go outside and wingers go inside.
But I do agree. There is a lot of overcomplication and over coaching. We are a League One club and I think trying to be too clever. With the players we have - and decent forward signings - just doing the basics well will often be enough.
But how many times did that happen yesterday? Harvie tried but it left him massively out of position when he / we lost the ball. Grimmer’s days of bombing down the wing are far behind him now
Well I’ll continue to say this: Parker is a better right back than Grimmer.
Harvie has had a disappointing start to the season by his standards.

Was it just me or did anyone else think that the referee had come up on the team bus with the Plymouth players. Constantly ignoring fouls on our players but giving them loads of free kicks for nothing incidents. Harvir spent ages having a go at him as they walked off at half time.
