Tbf even some comments on the Plymouth forum say the ref was definitely not a homer. He seemed a little too eager to be part of the show.

What are the guidelines not to allow a quickfree kick, I thought it was to blow your whistle hard.
Is a block tackle really in the referee’s handbook ?

Tried a Steak Pie from the new catering company. Absolutely sensational, soft braised steak, very tender and full of taste with a mild gravy/sauce. Short crust pastry, that held firm.
One of the finest pies I’ve ever tasted.

The butter bean pie was a shocker.
We were absolutely baffled by this when it happened. Incredible scenes.

It’s not just us. That’s modern football.
I’m sure I have said it before but a left footed cross on the left inherently bends away from goal and needs power to redirect it onto goal, where as a right footed cross from the left inherently bends towards the goal and only needs a feint touch. Big Old fashioned number 9’s thrived off those crossed, but bar the Kanes and the Haalands, they are increasingly freaks of the game and not the stalwarts.
When you cross the ball, also, it inherently gives the opposition a chance to win the ball and get possession themselves. You run the risk of turning over the ball.
So instead, the players have had it drilled into them to recycle the ball. Rather than give the opposition the chance to win it back, you keep hold off it.
The problem with that approach at our level, when a player cuts back inside it allows the defending team to set themselves rather than have to quickly react to a ball coming in.
Same with when the winger cuts back and plays the ball backwards. The defending team as the time to set themselves in a strong defensive position that our players (league one level) aren’t really good, or quick enough to break down and provide key opportunities in the box.
If we have an outstanding number 9 and a number 10 that can unlock defences we might see us creating more chances. If not, I can see it being a frustrating season
Junior, while a frustrating player. Is playing on his correct side. Hes a right footer who cuts in. Many wide players are the sane know. Especially if you play one up front, it in effect gives you a front three, and that allows the full backs to get the width.
For Junior Especially the issue is when he gets the ball. Getting it near the half way line is pointless, getting it near their box allows him to drive in and have a shot.
Also, if your 9 drops, it allows the wide players to run into the space onto their stronger feet.
Playing actual wingers isnt much of a thing anymore, is it?

Hes very left footed but he is a right sided player.
Morley was tempted to shove him fully out the way but thought better of it.

That Blackpool result away to Stockport shows that was a very good point away for us last week.
Yes we still need a bit of work, but if we get that number 9 in this week, I firmly believe we’ll be in a shout for the playoffs.

I don’t think that Blackpool result says anything. We were 1-0 up and a sloppy error chucked two points away.

I couldn’t believe that either. He’s scored all his goals with his stronger left foot. Some real crackers too.
True. But I was endeavouring on some positive spin. Looks like they tore Stockport a new one and I’m holding out for that rare commodity of three points on the road next weekend
