So if Fred was looking at Oxford, I wonder if that is a fly in the ointment?
I suppose there is a risk that Fred has ‘Shat his bed’ and WWFC withdrew their original offer ?

Without any doubt he won’t.
On big money he might though.
Depends if Oxford were any sort of A option for him and that’s now off the table.
Wouldn’t be an impossibility for him to sign back on for us - but no doubt it’d be late on.
If (and big if) Fred did sign for us again, would that be some kind of record for the most times a players has signed separately for the same club (as opposed to simple contract extensions)?

I would personally consider that as the same spell to be fair - but others might not.
Most likely he turns up at some bastad like Huddersfield who seem to be our nemesis recently. But we’ll see!
Dare say we’ll have a long quiet spell then loads of stuff back to back.
Strangest is not hearing any update to the Norris situation. Surely we could at least confirm any contract offer has been removed and he’s gone. As that has to be certain now.

Aaron Ramsey favourite to replace Bloomfield at Poxford.
Topline doesn’t look great but both times he took over in unenviable positions with high likelihood of relegation due to the size of club he was managing and their positions at the time.
His PPG last season for Oxford over 21 games was 1.19 pts per game, over the season that’s 54 pts, which would have kept them up and would have been one point more than the 53 pts they got in the Championship in 24/25.
His PPG in 24/25 for Luton over 20 games was 1.20, over the season was 55 points, which would have kept them up.
Any reasonable football supporter would have acknowledged it was a very difficult job to keep Oxford up last season, they did amazingly to stay up the season before.
New Chairman at Oxford, who has come in and sacked him as they are changing the direction of how they do things. Shame this instant approach wasn’t taken by a previous line manager.
MB had a very slow start to life with us, including the one win in 17 games (only 8 defeats) and then an amazing purple patch that had us riding the crest of a wave.
I think he’s done a good job at both Luton and Oxford given the size of those clubs and the circumstances. Interestingly, with 6 games to go last season MB (11 games) and Wilshere (29 games) had exactly same PPG of 1.45 for Luton. Wilshere won 5 of last 6 and 8 of last 10 to finish with a much better record overall.
I only wish him well, he’s learnt a lot and I hope someone else takes a chance on him as a manager.

Shame Mikel Arteta’s in situ - Blooms could work his way through Arsenal’s entire midfield.
