Looks very much like a modern version of original Adams Park. Very smart.
My thoughts exactly, similar size to the original AP but a bit smaller, its a very smart and modern ground but with a bit of character, especially the main stand from the outside.
Yes that main stand looks like a 2 storey version of ours, with all the extra space and facilities that brings.
Boston Utd’s old ground, York Rd was the best ground in Non league football from 1980 till they entered the league by a country mile.
Central to the town, decent crowds, and atmosphere, anyone who says the new ground is progress, are telling porkies pies.
I would say it was huge progress because Boston United never owned York Street, it was leased from the Malkinson family who in more recent years had wanted to develop the land.
Ruben Amorim has been sacked by Man Utd. Strange decision as his team started to look like they were finally finding some form? Who’s going to replace him? Could they go for Maresca? Southgate? An unknown?
If you criticise the Board that is your death sentence.
it was one of the more obvious examples of a manager trying to get himself sacked that I’ve seen
Yep, he pretty much said ‘back me or sack me’ shortly after making it fairly clear they weren’t backing him
Looks like the Kassam to me, but at least they are going to build a 4th stand before they demolish the ground.
That’s a bit harsh. ![]()
Well done Boston, I loved going there during our Conference days.
Rosenior gets an eight year contract at Chelsea. Surely eight months would be more realistic.
You’d laugh if you didn’t remember this kind of financial lunacy is dragging us all toward the abyss.
Actually a six year contract. Remarkable career progression.
Already beaten his Dad’s proud record of shortest managerial stint…
In fairness Moyes got a 6 year deal and didn’t last one year of it.
When I first moved up near Boston 10 years ago, I was walking into Peterborough Services when an open shirted long haired man was walking out, …. thought to myself, I know him and blurted out “ Alright Gareth”
Apparently he was up there scouting a young Boston player.
Maths was never my strong point.
Leroy last 10 minutes at Torquay, didn’t he?
Jon Brady gets the Vale job.
The PNLs are still looking though.
As ever the odds for next Headington manager seem to fluctuate wildly with the faintest hint of speculation, but here’s the latest, for what it’s worth:
None of those options scream ‘relegation dogfight’ to me and ‘project’ coaches & managers seem to be quickly falling out of fashion as clubs get burned. Rowett did the job required and may have done so again. I don’t know what the PNLs expect, they’re dwarfed in the Championship.
Yes, I would like to see Liam Manning get the job personally - he got the Franchise into the relegation zone once they’d lost all their best players from the previous season, but still doggedly sticking to his pretty football principles - so I’d like to think he could work similar magic with OUFC.
