I agree .Personal terms are not usually discussed (if ever) before the clubs agree a fee . I amnot wasting any nervous enery on this rumour from this very questionable source. I doubt we will be signing Connell. The Arsenal guy on the other hand ![]()
Agreed . I have been hopeing for some while that we would be getting another stricker in . Three is not enough for promotion in my view . Injuries can easily take all three out if you are unlucky .
Lettuce?
To be fair, West Ham have been consistently linked to Kone, rumour wise.
And regarding the pasta sauce, if you told my Italian mate a can of tomatoes would do for sauce, he’d have a bigger breakdown than suggesting having a Cappucino after midday.
I watched his last few streams. He accurately predicted the last two of Barnsley’s outgoings before they were formally announced. He has sufficient links at the club to be considered “ITK”
A can if tomatoes AND a vegetable ![]()
Much as I love the King and admire Potter, not sure that move would work myself. 8 mill plus incentives is a nice bit of business though. (Sell on clause?)
Hopefully, the management group have a striker in mind on the down low when the cash arrives.
NTT20 podcast had Bradley Fink as one of the 10 trandfers to be aware of. Intrestingly they also pointed out that Daniel Dodds, the UK scout for Borussia Dortmund, is our very own Mike Dodds brother. With Mike possibly giving him the heads up on both Bellinghams and Dan giving us the heads up on Fink.
Spot on
Funny you should mention this…
One of the twitter guys is gossiping that Josh Knight (Hannover) could be on his way back to us.
So there is more noise surrounding the signing of Connell. If he signs, is that a sign that Leahy will be leaving?
At the moment, we are all fairly sure that Taff & Butcher will be leaving before the end of the window. Big question marks over McCleary and Leahy’s positions in the squad. As we currently have Westergaard, Lowry, Boyd-Munce, Henderson & Mullins with potentially Connell to join them who can all play at CM. Also Scowen to return once his knee has been repaired.
McCleary’s game time is at risk with Quitirna, Berry, Fred & Tilley (and sometimes Udoh) who can play on the wings.
Not tapping up if the club gives him permission is it?
I’d be disappointed to see Leahy leave. He may well drop down the pecking order this season, but he’s a superb character to have around the club and is still good enough to contribute throughout the season when called upon.
I’ve long suspected we’ll get Connell in the end. He seems to be one of the best (if the not the best) player in our division in a position we desperately need fiiled.
I hope Luke’a able to stay. Butcher surely will leave before the start of the season, but Leahy’s versatility should ount in his favour.
I’d also be disappointed to see him move on. However, he might look at the situation and decide that he needs a club where he can compete to start every match rather than as a backup for the bench.
However that being said, Dodds might keep him as a back-up for Harvie at left-back?
I guess that depends a little bit on how Ryan Cole develops and a lot on whether Hartridge stays.
I think that depends on this rumour about Knight…… From the friendlies so far, Dodds has played Hartridge as a Centre-back and hasn’t risked him out at left back yet. When Hartridge has played there, it causes us to play quite centrally or right wing only as he tucks in more. Whereas Leahy is happy to look for the overlap and hug the touchline at some points.
