Best ignored rather than rising to it. Trouble is my ignored list is growing as is my concern regarding this forum. Fortunately the season starts next week - let’s see how things go
The danes have played in the top level in Denmark and Norway. I doubt they are bad players. We may have been a bit blinded by the money, but, as shown its not really much. A million for this guy at Barnsley or this guy at Rovers. Clearly, silly in reality for lower league footballers.
I’m not sure how anyone can judge the merits of any of our January signings with the exception of Norris, Reach and Bradley who managed to get lots of minutes. Certainly I wouldn’t be using a few halves of pre-season games, two of which were glorified training sessions.
I’m cautiously optimistic that we’ve got some really good quality in this squad to be challenging towards the top end of this division. But let’s see how it all plays out over the first couple of months and not jump to early conclusions as what is almost a totally new team tries to gel for the first time in competitive games
Always better when there’s actual football to discuss. As far as the Gasroom goes, things have improved slightly over the last couple of months I think.
Yes.
Does the rumour of us moving for Taylor mean that Skura’s injury at Barnet was quite serious? Or does it just indicate that we needed more quality in the position?
Or is it question marks on Harvie’s fitness and if Allen is having to play LB, we need more bodies in the middle of the defence?
But in terms of our FFP…or whatever it is called…its a big chunk of our allowance
I notice that Connor Taylor was absent from the Bristol Rovers friendly with Oxford yesterday.
I think Connor would be a real good signing.
I actually prefer it now. Back then there were a bunch of guys backing each other up and rounding together on opinions they didn’t like . It’s a far fairer platform these days .much improved imo .
No disrespect to the people who run this and the rest of us on here but it is definitely a poorer place for the absence of @Shev @glasshalffull1 @drcongo and @flymofranks latest incarnation, etc.
It did get a little bit too divisive and entrenched (brilliant post btw @kim_il_swan) but it seemed a more inclusive and welcoming place. It all feels a little anodyne at the moment.
We collectively have hounded out far too many good people whether you agreed or disagreed with them. Gasroom 2.0 rarely did that.
Sorry, that’s all very negative! Despite this, it is still my only remotely social-media thingy and there are still plenty of familiar ‘faces’ who make it all worth while coming.
All we need is some competitive football.
All we need is love
I think the weak links are Hartridge and Skura. This is why I expect he may come in. Also he’s 6 6 so maybe they are addressing the lack of height issue raised by a few on here .
I post far less regularly now as do my mates.
I still read daily and enjoy some of threads but I’ve fallen out of love with the vast majority of the content and find the constant arguments a real drain.
I miss some of the old guard on and off the pitch who made Wycombe Wanderers and The Gasroom such a wonderful place.
Not only do I post a lot less but I suspect this season will see me go to less games home and away than I’ve done for many years.
Hats off to those who run this incarnation of The Gasroom though, I’d miss it if it was gone.
Some of those you’ve mentioned were a big part of the problem towards the end of last season. Hopefully they’ll return when they can participate constructively again.
I’d like to add Malone to that list (as usual!) and it would be interesting to hear from others about who they miss most and (somewhat controversially) who they wouldn’t particularly miss if they stopped posting (or were banned).
I am as ever setting myself up as what I think they call a patsy.
Honestly . If change affects you this badly . I feel for you .
I also miss Malone. What a great poster at 2.0
You’ve summed up perfectly why I post so little now.
I echo your thoughts entirely.
