Ah the difference between under promise/over deliver & visa-versa
Personally I think we’re gearing up for a season of 352 and if that’s the case we really only need a right wing back and another striker (assuming Fred will be used as one). A natural number 10 would be nice but I’m assuming Mullins and Henderson will compete for that position.
I’d be surprised and worried if we are looking to go wing backs. Certainly Fred staying would suggest that is not the way we are thinking for most games.

I don’t understand this narrative, they have failed to deliver anything of note. Limited successes are that Duff appears to be a good appointment at the second attempt, and there have been a few good signings while splashing vast amounts of cash.
Compare that to the previous regime who… got us promoted to the Championship.

When Duff came in he talked about being successful with 3 at the back and 2 up front. He tried it at the start, i think. He then went back at the end.
I really wouldn’t be surprised if that is his plan.
We would need a RWB though. And a midfield of 3 from many options. Fred off Fink ( until we get another one in)

The figures quoted in the Championship are usually 5mil plus for fullbacks. Rob was out of his financial depth there without bringing in a consortium. Lommy has the dough but top players will need persuading to join a club with such small average gates. I wonder if Morley regrets leaving Bolton, even though we probably made him one of the highest paid players in the division?
Why would Morley regret it? It wouldn’t have come as a surprise to him we only pull in 5-6,000? He had 6months here and by all accounts loved it.

Might he not prefer being one of the first names on the team sheet in league one to a doubtful starter in the championship?
I don’t think he regrets the move, he clearly enjoys it at Wycombe, but Bolton’s promotion is a reason he might

Also there are the delights of High Wycombe itself (ok perhaps the surrounding locations etc).
Louie Barry looks to be signing for Sheff Wed.
And he couldn’t pin down a starting spot when they were in the division below.

Fact is, Morley wasn’t a regular starter for Bolton, and in the six months he was at Wycombe, he was.
I’m sure Morley views the Bolton promotion with pragmatism and if anything, more to motivate him to be a better player.
He clearly enjoys it down South and in this area and he’s at a club, where I imagine he is well payed, and absolutely loved by the fans.
Morley will play in the Championship, he’ll just be in light and dark blue rather than white.
Anyway…
Geeze, seems like an age since the Steve Cook announcement. Hopefully won’t be too long now. I was pretty confident that the Alex Mitchell deal was going to go through. Hopefully they’re just dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s on clean sheet bonuses.

If we don’t get some movement this week it won’t be ideal.
The last thing we need to hear is " X is 2 weeks away " and " Y is three weeks away" after the 3rd game of the season without a point on the board.
Morley and his family fell in love with Marlow and surrounds, not to mention friendships built with other players and their families. I hope he continues to be happy in South Bucks.

I had a great chat with Mr. Morley at a birthday party a couple of weeks ago. Rest assured he is 100% committed to Wycombe Wanderers this season.
