13 goals and 7 assists from left wing last season.
They have turned down £750k for him.

To get things mildly back on topic - what’s the status in regards to squad places? Do we have squad space that allows us to sign anyone we’d want, or a case of having to sign those that don’t count towards the squad limit?

There’s no need to get huffy puffy and sarcastic. I was intrigued to think that a 20 year old might be married. Very unusual in this day and age. That’s all.
If someone had told me that he was Emre’s father-in-law I think I would just have said how young he was to be married. Certainly no need for interrogation and trying to ascertain their exact legal status!
That was clearly the mischievous intention although as I said yesterday it took me ages to ‘get it’.

My thoughts on this transfer window as we approach the first competitive match of the season:
I think the transfer business we have done is solid and gives us a team that shouldn’t be in danger of relegation this season, but I don’t think it shows any serious intent to get promoted. Maybe, with a bit of luck, promotion will happen, but I don’t get the impression that it is seriously being pursued at this time.

I really don’t think this is the end of our business - it can’t be. Our attacking strength in depth is no where near good enough. I also note that the transfer market in attack has been slow going across the board. I still think we need three attacking players and expect us to get them before window closes.
Not convinced Fink will remain with us. Also wouldn’t surprise me if Leahy departs.

Presumably we’re waiting to see what dregs are left on deadline day again.
Don’t think it is entirely like that. Some decent players waiting for championship clubs to come calling that won’t materialise.

Lommy’s other club in Kazakhstan has made three signings this season. All free transfers. He’s not splashing the cash on either of us.
