I think Clarkson ( whose family made their fortune making Paddington Bears without permission until Michael Bond sued them) is another of those privately educated ‘man of the people’ bullies who made his money and created his profile on the BBC dollar before disparaging it for not letting him punch producers and monetarises everything while claiming to be a silly old tight jeans wearing sausage who doesn’t know very much. (He knew enough to buy a farm to avoid tax… but poor farmers, etc etc) If that makes me a frothing spart, I can live with it.

Went to bed early to rest up for the England game but couldn’t sleep so am watching the Brazil v Norway game. Anyone else in the same predicament?

Not really but my pre-match snack of Mexican jumping beans on toast has been a fucking disaster.
I’ll watch the match tomorrow if we’ve won. If not I can relax and enjoy the rest of the tournament.

According to both The Guardian and The Telegraph (rare they agree?) the White House lobbied Fifa to overturn the ban. If this is true then this is the biggest scandal so far in a world cup of scandals and Fifa need to urgently be held account.

England game apparently delayed by at least an hour. That’s done it for me. Bed beckons.
Definitely the right call to go to bed early and then get up. Although, tried to go to the pub in Stoke Mandeville and it was so busy they were turning people away!
