His form was poor which is why he was dropped. Canāt put players in team because you want them to sign a new contract
Yes thereās plenty to point the finger at in terms of the current regime but Vokes finding out this morning isnāt exactly a huge crime.
You canāt really tell players before the seasons over (in most instances) in case they down tools.
And today is only the third working day since the Charlton match - and I doubt anyone was in on Friday.
So, on paper, doesnāt seem that unreasonable.

There is no date on the statement so it canāt be taken as a given that it was written today.
Even if it was written today, this is how itās done. If he had an inkling it was on the cards, we all did so he mustāve done, but found out officially earlier heād still write āI found out this morningā.
There are many things we can criticise the people in charge for right now, I donāt think this is one of them

If I was him I would get out now before heās sacked/pushed out.. A lot of honest, well run clubs would appreciate his talent and give him a better job.

Add to this the manner he left the pitch when he broke his arm vs Stockport it was clear he knew that was the last time heās play for us.
As for a coaching role - maybe that was pulled out from him, maybe not. The line that he thinks he still has more to offer on the pitch suggests he thinks he wants to continue as a player, at least in some capacity, rather than take up a full coaching role.
I wish Sam nothing but success in whatever he does. It was time for him to move on for me.
Will never forget the secret announcement of his signing being blown by stopping for photos in his car with a private plate on as he made his way to the ground.

Moreover although we never got to see Mrs Slocombes pussy on screen I always imagined what it looked like. 
Assume you mean Xavier Simons, on loan from Hull City. As they survived in the Championship (by the skin of their teeth), I imagine he might be hopeful of getting back into their squad for next season. Had his moments but not an obvious candidate for the 28 shirt.
Sadly, I suspect the player who enjoyed such a successful loan spell with us wearing that shirt (and who clearly thoroughly enjoyed his time with us) wouldnāt want to return at any price.
