Wycombe Wanderers Women

The U18s did play that knock-out cup game against Epsom & Ewell on Saturday and won 6-2. They now host QPR in the Quarter-Finals, in theory on 28 February but that is the day the U18s travel to Peterborough United in their important final Berks & Bucks group match. I believe county cup cup games take precedence over all other fixtures, so we will see.

Peterborough is a long way from Berks or Bucks!

The old world order is crumbling.

A full set of fixtures this weekend, and both youth teams will be very busy until the end of the season.

Tomorrow, in just their their third JPL league match, the U16s are at home to Stevenage who are challenging at the top with six wins and one defeat. A 3pm kick-off on 3G at Jubilee Park, Reading Road, Henley-on-Thames RG9 4HA. This a town council maintained facility.

Also tomorrow, the U18s host Fulham in the JPL League. The Cottagers beat the Chairgirls 4-2 in the reverse fixture in November and are one of the top teams. They managed to draw 2-2 at the impressive Crystal Palace U16s. Kick-off 10am at the 1878 Stadium, Burnham.

On Sunday, the Firsts are at home to Beaconsfield Town in the League Cup Quarter-Final, more to come on that.

Interesting news this morning of a goalkeeper loan signing.

From the Spurs U19 pages:

"Erin Radbourne joined us at Under-16 level from MK Dons ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

In her first season with the Club, she played 18 times for the Under-19s in all competitions, 13 of those in the Professional Game Academy League, and played a crucial role in their run to the Capital Cup Semi-Final, including a penalty shootout heroics over QPR in the second round of the competition.

She also joined Chesham United on a dual-registration in January, 2025, where she featured regularly at FA Women’s National League level for around two months before returning to the Club.

In April, 2025, Erin was involved in a WSL matchday squad for the first time as she was named amongst the substitutes for our trip to Liverpool."

Erin has made five appearances this season for Chesham. This is an interesting signing as Axelle has been doing a fantastic job between the sticks, given that she is primarily an outfield player. Lucia Delves was first choice at the start of the season but got injured and Robyn Cullen is also in the squad and has performed extremely well when called upon.

W3 have also this morning formally announced right back Lauren Drewett, who has already made four appearances.

Another new signing announced in the past few minutes.

Amelia is a striker and has made three appearances for Ashford Town (Middx) this season, in tier 5 London & SE Premier (edit - and also Carshalton Athletic this season in the Surrey Premier). Last season she played for Iowa Lakes College in the USA, previously she spent two seasons at Ascot United where she scored two goals for the Yellawomen in the 4-2 win against the Chairgirls at Burnham, in February 2024.

Today’s other results and latest table.

Farnham Town came from two down to lead Portchy, but it ended 3-3 and Farnham went out on penalties. If they do the same as the previous round and keep the draw layout, we will be playing Portchester in the semi-final, venue to be drawn. That would mean Flyers play Reading in the other tie.

A shock in the league with Woodley winning at Oxford City, with an added time goal.

A change in our fixtures, Badshot Lea at home on 22 February has been changed to Southampton Women at home, in the league.

Next fixtures for the Firsts, looks like Badshot away has changed to home.

15 Feb - Badshot Lea (H) - League - 14:00
17 Feb - QPR (H) - CCL Cup - 19:45
22 Feb - Southampton Women (H) - League - 14:00

It occurs to me that Badshot is not a great name for a football team

Badshot Lea would be even worse…if your name is Lea

My prediction for the league cup draw was wrong, we are away to the Flyers on 22 March in the semi-final. Some more fixtures have been added, six pointers coming up!

15 Feb - Badshot Lea (H) - League - 14:00
17 Feb - QPR (H) - CCL Cup - 19:45
22 Feb - Southampton Women (H) - League - 14:00
1 Mar - Winchester City Flyers (H) - League - 14:00
8 Mar - Southampton Women (A) - League - 14:00
22 Mar - Winchester City Flyers (A) - League Cup SF - 14:00

Tomorrow, both youth teams are in action. In the JPL league, the U16s host St Albans City who have 7 points from 7 games having lost their last two games 3-0, to top of the table Stevenage, and at Oxford City last week. Kick-off 10:00 at the 1878 Stadium.

The U18s travel to London City Lionesses U16 in the JPL League, another underage team like Crystal Palace U16. The Lionesses have 10 points from 8 games and lost 4-0 at Plymouth Argyle last week. Venue and time unknown, it may be at Bromley FC, where their senior team plays.

Edit - to clarify, there is an adjacent 3G pitch at Hayes Lane, Bromley, where I think the Lionesses Academy play.

On Sunday the Firsts are at home to bottom of the table Badshot Lea, preview to follow.

On Tuesday the Firsts take a break from the league when they take on Queens Park Rangers in the Combined Counties Cup at Burnham.

Also on Tuesday at Burnham, 5-7pm, W3 are holding a Talent ID session as they look for new players next season. Have you got a daughter aged 13-19 who would be interested? Go along and take in the game as well.

There has been a fixture update for the Firsts and we now have the remaining matches scheduled, apart from Portchester away. That is probably because they have a backlog of league games, they have played five less than the Chairgirls, and it looks like we will be playing that one from 19 April onwards. I understand that Portchester on 15 March has been targeted as an Adams Park match, that is the day after Luton at home. It’s not clear if another one will be played there, that would be either Southampton Women next Sunday or the Flyers the following Sunday. We also await the Combined Counties Cup draw.

Coming up tomorrow. In the JPL League, the U16s travel to Stevenage who are competing with New Level Soccer at the top of the table. In the reverse fixture two weeks ago, the Chairgirls lost narrowly 4-5. Kick-off 10:15am at The Sports Academy, Broadhall Way, Stevenage, SG2 9BN.

The U18s host AFC Wimbledon in the JPL league, the Dons won the reverse fixture 4-2 in October. Kick-off 10:00am at the 1878 Stadium, Burnham.

On Sunday the season gets more serious for the Firsts when they play the next four league games against title challengers, starting with Southampton Women at home on Sunday. More on this game against a truly historic club later.
